Students participating in Time for a Change develop a whole host of skills, including team working, communicating, time management, financial awareness, participation, listening skills and taking a risk. Children are encouraged to think creatively and work together to overcome problems. The programme links to social enterprise issues such as recycling and awareness of the challenges faced by many people locally and globally.
The programme enables students to understand what enterprise and entrepreneurship means whilst at primary school so that a “can do” attitude is embedded at an earlier age. Students are led on a journey to develop enterprise and employability skills, plus gain an understanding of how businesses operate. The programme helps to create an awareness of their own potential, developing self confidence and self-awareness.
Time for a Change allows students of all abilities to participate and be successful, while encouraging friendships with children outside their usual friendship groups. Most of all, the children have lots of fun throughout the project, experience a huge sense of achievement and enjoy the benefits of helping other people. Included as part of the exciting learning resource package is a range of educational games designed to enable students to explore the environmental and global issues raised in the programme. Please visit the Educational Games section to view the demonstations of these exciting and innovative games.
