Shavington High School’s Transition Project is a Success
Shavington High School has been working in partnership with Education Business Plus, to deliver Time for a Change to Year 5 and 6 pupils from Shavington Primary School, The Berkeley Primary School and Wistaston Church Lane Primary School.
Children have worked in teams to set up small eco-conscious businesses. One aim of each business was to raise money for charity by producing a product or service that incorporated recycling.
On the 30th March all of the pupils, teachers, local business ambassadors and parents involved attended the Grand Finale at Shavington High School. The attending pupils were a credit to their schools by impressing the judges with their team working, can-do attitudes, and overall professional attitudes! The competition standard was incredibly high and the judges found it exceptionally difficult to decide on the winning school. Congratulations to Wistaston Church Lane who were awarded first place for including the most recycling within their businesses.
Emma Serventi, Shavington High School’s Work Related Learning Coordinator:
“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved. Without their enthusiasm, energy and determination we would not have had such a fantastic time. The pupils’ invention skills were brilliant; to make such interesting products from very little, and to recycle so much, showed huge amounts of creativity. Well done to everyone!”
